On Tuesday, July 12, 2016 the Committee on Natural Resources convened at 4:00 PM for opening statements, for a Full Committee markup in the 1324 of the Longworth House Office Building. The Committee will reconvene the markup on Wednesday, July 13, at 10:00 AM in 1324 Longworth and the following bills will be considered:


  • H.R. 1157 (Rep. Doug LaMalfa), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to take land into trust for the benefit of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Mission Indians, and for other purposes. “Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Mission Indians Land Transfer Act of 2015”;
  • H.R. 2333 (Rep. Lynn Jenkins), To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to acquire certain property related to the Fort Scott National Historic Site in Fort Scott, Kansas;
  • H.R. 2817 (Rep. Michael Turner), To amend title 54, United States Code, to extend the authorization of appropriations for the Historic Preservation Fund.  “National Historic Preservation Amendments Act of 2015”;
  • H.R. 4576 (Rep. Aumua Amata Coleman Radewagen), To implement the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean, to implement the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fishery Resources in the South Pacific Ocean, and for other purposes. “Ensuring Access to Pacific Fisheries Act”;
  • H.R. 5468 (Rep. Rob Bishop), To direct the Secretary of the Interior to allow for prepayment of repayment obligations under Repayment Contracts between the United States and the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District;
  • H.R. 5577 (Rep. Garret Graves), To amend the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct offshore oil and gas lease sales through Internet-based live lease sales, and for other purposes. “Innovation in Offshore Leasing Act”;
  • S. 246 (Sen. Heidi Heitkamp), A bill to establish the Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children, and for other purposes. “Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children Act”; and
  • S. 1579 (Sen. Brian Schatz), A bill to enhance and integrate Native American tourism, empower Native American communities, increase coordination and collaboration between Federal tourism assets, and expand heritage and cultural tourism opportunities in the United States. “Native American Tourism and Improving Visitor Experience Act” or “NATIVE Act”
