House Natural Resources Committee and House Judiciary Committee Speak Out Against Proposed Changes to the ESA Citizen Participation Rule
House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Raúl M. Grijalva, House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member John Conyers Jr., House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations Ranking Member Debbie Dingell and House Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law Ranking Member Henry C. "Hank" Johnson sent a joint letter to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to urge them to oppose the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) that would harm species substantially and reduce citizens petition rights. This proposal would weaken citizens right to submit petitions and reduces their ESA implementation participation.
