Legislative Hearing: Hearing on H.R. 4685 and H.R. 5379
On Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in room 1334 Longworth House Office Building, the Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs held a legislative hearing on the following bills:
- H.R. 4685 (Rep. Kevin McCarthy), To take certain Federal lands located in Tulare County, California, into trust for the benefit of the Tule River Indian Tribe, and for other purposes. “Tule River Indian Reservation Land Trust, Health, and Economic Development Act.”
- H.R. 5379 (Rep. Raul Grijalva), To prescribe procedures for effective consultation and coordination by Federal agencies with federally recognized Indian tribes regarding Federal Government activities that impact tribal lands and interests to ensure that meaningful tribal input is an integral part of the Federal decisionmaking process; to the Committee on Natural Resources. “Requirements, Expectations, and Standard Procedures for Executive Consultation with Tribes Act.”
