Subcommittee Hearing: SCIP Legislative Hearing
On Thursday, September 19, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in Room 1324 Longworth House Office Building, the Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States (SCIP) will hold a legislative hearing on the following bills:
- H.R. 1312 (Rep. Jared Huffman), To recognize tribal cooperation in the environmental review of proposed actions affecting the revised Yurok Reservation, and for other purposes. “Yurok Lands Act of 2019”
- S. 216 (Sen. Maria Cantwell), To provide for equitable compensation to the Spokane Tribe of Indians of the Spokane Reservation for the use of tribal land for the production of hydropower by the Grand Coulee Dam, and for other purposes. "Spokane Tribe of Indians of the Spokane Reservation Equitable Compensation Act”
- H.R. 3846 (Rep. Ben Ray Lujan), To enhance protections of Native American tangible cultural heritage, and for other purposes. “Safeguard Tribal Objects of Patrimony Act of 2019”
- H.R. 4153 (Rep. Ro Khanna), To amend the Indian Health Care Improvement Act to authorize urban Indian organizations to enter into arrangements for the sharing of medical services and facilities, and for other purposes. “Health Care Access for Urban Native Veterans Act”
