Legislative Hearing: Water, Oceans, and Wildlife Legislative Hearing
On Thursday, June 25, 2020 at 9:00 A.M. EDT in room 1324 Longworth (Hearing Room) and online via Cisco Webex video conference platform, the Subcommittee on Water, Oceans, and Wildlife will hold a legislative hearing on the following bills:
- H.R. 1776 (Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-OR) A bill to amend the Lacey Act Amendments of 1981 to prohibit importation, exportation, transportation, sale, receipt, acquisition, and purchase in interstate or foreign commerce, or in a manner substantially affecting interstate or foreign commerce, of any live animal of any prohibited wildlife species. "Captive Primate Safety Act"
- H.R. 2264 (Rep. Ted Lieu, D-CA) To conserve global bear populations by prohibiting the importation, exportation, and interstate trade of bear viscera and items, products, or substances containing, or labeled or advertised as containing, bear viscera, and for other purposes. “Bear Protection Act of 2019”
- H.R. 2492 (Rep. Greg Gianforte, R-MT) To establish a Federal cost share percentage for the Milk River Project in the State of Montana. “St. Mary's Reinvestment Act”
- H.R. 2871 (Rep. Russ Fulcher, R-ID) To provide flexibility to allow greater aquifer recharge, and for other purposes. “Aquifer Recharge Flexibility Act”
- H.R. 3937 (Rep. Dan Newhouse, R-WA) To redesignate the facility of the Bureau of Reclamation located at Highway-155, Coulee Dam, WA 99116, as the "Nathaniel 'Nat' Washington Power Plant".
- H.R. 6761 (Rep. Raúl M. Grijalva, D-AZ) To require the Secretary of the Interior to establish a grant program to provide financial assistance to States in eradicating the Asian giant hornet, and for other purposes. “Murder Hornet Eradication Act”
