Livestreams Next Week: Ocean-Based Climate Legislation on Tuesday, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland In-Person Hearing on Wednesday

Washington, D.C. – The Natural Resources Committee is holding two livestreamed events next week.

Tuesday, June 22

The full Committee, led by Chair Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), will hold a legislative hearing on his Ocean-Based Climate Solutions Act (H.R. 3764), which will include a discussion of multiple bills included in the larger vehicle. Grijalva introduced H.R. 3764 on June 8.

Wednesday, June 23

The full Committee, led by Chair Grijalva, will hold an in-person oversight hearing with Interior Secretary Deb Haaland titled Examining the Department of the Interior’s Spending Priorities and the President’s Fiscal Year Budget 2022 Proposal. The hearing, which will include some Committee members joining remotely, will be the first time Sec. Haaland has appeared before the Committee since the Senate confirmed her on March 15.

There is no available seating for credentialed reporters in the hearing room due to space constraints, but the Longworth House Office Building is open to the public. Under recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Office of the Attending Physician, face coverings are required for non-fully-vaccinated and vaccine-indeterminate individuals meeting in any indoor U.S. House of Representatives space.
