Chair Grijalva Cheers President Biden’s First Environmental Actions
Washington D.C. – House Natural Resources Committee Chair Raúl M. Grijalva released the following statement following President Joe Biden’s Executive Orders to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement, reverse the previous President’s anti-environmental policies, and new racial equity efforts.
“President Biden’s executive orders today show just how much damage Republicans in Washington did to the planet during the Trump administration and how much work lies ahead to advance conservation and environmental justice. Rejoining the Paris Accords, rolling back some of the most egregious Trump-era giveaways and starting new federal equity efforts all put people over polluters, which is going to be a theme with this administration. The clearest mandate President Biden has is to save our planet for the future and offer good paying jobs that sustain our world rather than destroy it, and these first orders put us on our way to building a truly pro-worker, pro-family, pro-environment economy.”
